Audio Licensing and Copyright

This page explains how you may use speech you create with VoiceHue. In short: your text stays yours, you decide where your audio goes, and a few limits protect voices and other people.

Your text stays yours

VoiceHue claims no ownership of the text you enter or of your projects. You are responsible for having the rights to the text you convert.

Using generated audio

You may use audio that you generate with VoiceHue in your own projects, such as videos, presentations, courses, podcasts, apps and other work, including work that earns money, as long as you follow the limits below.

Limits for voices

Voices on your device or in your browser are provided by your operating system or browser vendor under their own terms, which can restrict recording or redistributing their output. Voices generated on your device come with their own licences. Always check the terms of the voice you select for the way you intend to use it.

What not to do

Do not present synthetic speech as the recording of a real person, do not clone or imitate a real person's voice without their permission, and do not resell the voices themselves or offer them as a separate voice library.

Disclosure

Some platforms and some countries ask creators to label AI-generated or synthetic audio. You are responsible for following the rules of the places where you publish.

Share links

When you share audio, VoiceHue creates a link that holds only your text, the voice and its settings. Anyone who has the link can open it and hear the audio, so share it only with people you are happy to give that text. A link lasts 90 days, you can delete it at any time, and anyone who opens it can report it. You are responsible for the text you share and for having the right to use it. Sharing does not change anything above: the limits for voices still apply, and it grants no extra rights.

Attribution

Attribution to VoiceHue is appreciated but not required.

Open-source components

MP3 files made in your browser are encoded with lamejs, an MP3 encoder licensed under the LGPL-3.0. We use it unmodified and load it on demand. Its source code is available at https://github.com/shijinyu/lamejs.
