Open a PDF right on this page, choose the pages or passage you want and press play: the sentence being read is highlighted as you listen. The file is opened in your browser and is never uploaded. It is free with no account, and you can download the part you chose as an MP3.
PDF, EPUB, TXT, DOCX or Markdown. Up to 50 MB for PDF, 30 MB for EPUB and 10 MB for the others.
Your file is opened in this browser only. It is never uploaded and never stored on our servers. Only the sentences you choose to hear are sent to a cloud voice to be spoken, and nothing is kept. Device voices send nothing at all.
Open your PDF. Drop the file on the reader above or choose it. It opens in your browser and is not uploaded.
Choose what to hear. Pick a page or bookmarked chapter from the contents, select a passage, or use Read from here on any paragraph.
Pick a voice. Choose a cloud voice for natural sound, or a device voice for free, unlimited listening.
Press play. The current sentence is highlighted and the page follows it. Pause, skip a sentence or change the speed at any time.
Download the audio. With a cloud voice you can save the selected part as an MP3 or WAV file.
PDF files up to 50 MB, and also EPUB books up to 30 MB and TXT, DOCX and Markdown files up to 10 MB. A PDF is read page by page. Page numbers and headers that repeat on every page are left out, broken lines are joined into paragraphs, and the contents list lets you jump to any page or bookmarked chapter.
The PDF is read by your own browser. It is not uploaded and it is not stored on our servers. Only the sentences you choose to hear are sent to a cloud voice to be turned into speech, and nothing is kept afterwards. A device voice sends nothing at all and also works offline.
A scanned PDF is a set of pictures of pages, so there is no text for a voice to read, and VoiceHue does not do text recognition. When you open one, the reader tells you so. Run the scan through a text-recognition tool first and open the result, or paste the text.
Cloud voices sound more natural and count against your free characters: 10,000 a day without an account, 30,000 a day when you are signed in. Device voices are the voices already installed on your phone or computer. They are free, unlimited and work offline, so they suit a whole book best. The reader shows how many characters your selection has and how many free characters you have left.
The reader sends one sentence at a time and prepares the next few while you listen, so a selection can be far longer than the 3,000 characters of a single request. If a selection is more than your free characters left today, the reader says so and offers to sign in for more, to join the waiting list for credit packs, or to continue for free with a device voice. Your place in a document is remembered in this browser only.
You can open a PDF, but it is not uploaded. The file is read inside your browser and never leaves your device. Only the sentences you choose to hear are sent to a cloud voice to be spoken, and nothing is stored on our servers.
Yes. It is free and needs no sign-up. Without an account you can listen to 10,000 characters a day with cloud voices, and 30,000 characters a day when you are signed in. Device voices are free and unlimited.
PDF up to 50 MB, EPUB up to 30 MB, and TXT, DOCX and Markdown up to 10 MB. A larger file is refused with a clear message before anything is read.
The PDF is probably a scan, so its pages are pictures. VoiceHue does not do text recognition. Use a text-recognition tool to turn the pages into text, then open the result or paste it.
Yes. Choose Device voices in the reader. They are free, unlimited and work offline, and they send nothing to our servers. They are listen-only, so audio can only be downloaded with a cloud voice.
As much as you like. The reader sends one sentence at a time, so there is no 3,000-character wall for a single selection. The daily limit of free cloud characters still applies, and device voices have no limit.
Paste it into the free tool, pick a voice and press play. Cloud voices download as MP3, free within the daily limits.
